James Suckling, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief, is one of the world's most powerful wine critics, and his assessments are widely popularised and used among consumers, collectors and the wine trade worldwide.
We were honoured to welcome James Suckling taster Stuart Pigott to the estate, where he tasted all of our vintages and awarded scores that were all between 96 and 93 points (out of 100).
Two of our cuvées in the 2022 vintage, Morgon Grands Cras and Fleurie La Dîme, were ranked in the top 100 wines, out of a selection of 7,000 French wines.
For James Suckling, the 2024 selections reflect a wide diversity of styles and terroirs, striking a balance between quality, price and the ‘waouh’ factor.
Morgon Grands Cras 2022
96 / 100
‘Stunning nose of a summer flower garden. Behind this charm offensive lies a deep, powerful wine with great clarity of black and red fruit. The full, fine tannins are already beautifully integrated, and it wouldn't be a crime to drink this beauty now. The finish is very long, very structured and precise. A great Morgon from a warm site that deserves to be better known’.
Long-lasting. To drink or to keep.
Fleurie La Dîme 2022
96 / 100
‘A powerful, well-structured wine for this appellation, with incredible morello cherry and cherry pit character and a bewitching touch of red rose. The medium-bodied palate is so graceful up front, then the fine tannins gradually develop into a wave that sweeps you away. Forget the American dime. This is a very limited edition Fleurie from an excellent site at the foot of the legendary La Madone, sheltered from the wind.’
Long-lasting. Drink now.
